Chris Kresser
Meet Chris Kresser. He’s the medical consultant behind the website Medicine for the 21st Century. Recently, he wrote a three-part series of posts called Raw Milk Reality.
You’ll want to check it out.
Raw milk is a tough subject to research – the debate surrounding it is so polarized. Equally passionate, equally qualified people on both sides, coming to opposite conclusions about the same subject, then trying to convince you that their position is the only position.
Where’s the synthesis? The view that takes into account both sides, that refuses to sling mud, that clear-headedly discusses the balance of risk and benefit associated with raw milk – then trusts readers to make their own choices?
Turns out it’s right here.
Part one: Is Raw Milk Dangerous?
Part two: Benefits of Raw Milk
Part three: Is Raw Milk Worth the Risk?
In light of the recent outbreak of E. coli in Oregon, I thought Kresser’s balanced, non-radical presentation was right on time. Bear in mind, he’s not out to convince anyone to drink raw milk – that’s what I like about him. He’s just putting the information on the table as comprehensively, and clearly, as possible; attempting to correct popular misconceptions; and giving people the information to evaluate raw milk for themselves.
How refreshing!
We hope you enjoy.
